Hey there, just wondering what brands and what sizes people are using these days. I know its mostly personal preferences, but just curious :)

Cheers, MJ

I think my mate got the small Intuos4 mate. He does a lot of photography and uses PS a lot. He loves it but it seemed a little small for me. I guess it depends on what you want to do with it??? I want one for when I eventually get around to organics and would like it for PS...price is the problem as you can see.

cheers bullet

I have a Bamboo.Though, it not something high end but it still works great.

Chirone 11-07-2010 07:38 AM

yeah, when i do use it it's awesome!
it works way better than my old genius tablet, it just sits here inside the black plastic thing that it came in where a mouse pad would be and relocates when i use my mouse...

..or if i'm not actually needing either it stays there and the mouse gets my chair as a mouse pad

A shi**y old trust tablet that just keeps on going!

I want it to berak so I can get a Wacom, but the bugger keeps on going!

bullet1968 11-07-2010 08:26 AM

I hope you earn s**tloads of money then gster...bloody hell look at the link and the prices!!

Edit: then again it may be cheaper in the Motherland (Pomgolia)

gster123 11-07-2010 09:43 AM

I would go for a Intous I think.

I use a tablet a bit so its something that I would use and get the usage out of it.

bullet1968 11-07-2010 09:59 AM

I want to get one in a few weeks too...would you guys go a medium or small?? obviously price is a key but I want to use it for texturing initially then organics when and IF I can get the hang of it.

Chirone 11-07-2010 10:26 AM

go for the largest! you know you want to!
i got a medium because i wanted the largest one that would fit into my bag

i would love to get my hands on a cintiq though. not at all portable and i have no room on my desk for it but would be awesome

elephantinc 11-07-2010 10:49 AM

I wouldn't say go for the largest. I have an A4 tablet and you wouldn't think it would be that big but it feels like it takes a week to do a stroke. Still, it might also depend on your screen size. If you have a 27" screen then a larger tablet might seem more appropriate.

Bl**dy heavy too....

bullet1968 11-07-2010 10:55 AM

bahahahahaha elephantic....27"!!!! jeez mate my lappy isnt that big. I think I will go medium...yes chirone I WOULD LOVE IT!!!!

cheers bullet

iamcreasy 11-07-2010 01:46 PM

cintiq, it should be bloody awesome.

I wonder how many pro artist use cintiq only because they have to use it.
