HI dudes! this is the last week befor i fly to london and will visit some sights and cultural worthy stuff....

anyways i wanted ever to do an own Dragonball clip or movie!I decided to start with Piccolo....its "The Evil" in person but gets good later in the original story...

pictures are all from google only the renders or screenshots are done by me....

I do not uinderstand whzy i cant model that simple anime head as it is on the image....does anyone have a tut on modeling in anime style? it seems super-hard......i thought because of the simpliness of the drawing its very easy but i am fataly false.....especially the chinn is hard the recreate in maya.....so firts here are some references so you know what im talking about....

looks like your trying to make the proportions too human. Remember 1) its an anime 2) Hes an alien. so i think you should lose some polys to get it a little smoother.

alienscience 17-06-2005 10:02 PM

Lose some polys? I would get some more, or just maybe even convert to suddiv or something to get a more organic look.

He meant lose polys to get a better control, and smoother organic look, AFTER the smoothing of course.

Yea I guess it's looking okay for now. I wouldn't mind seeing a smoothed version just to see where it's at. I can say that in the front view that the jaws are way too stretched out. Most anime characters have jaws that curve in toward the chin.

Hmmm, kind of like this. Not exactly all that proportional but I think it gets the point through. And another thing I noticed that throws it off is the mouth. His is just like a small line. He doesn't really have lips.

hi dudes!"
First of all its nice to have so many replies so early...thx!
secondly you seem unsure about the poly stuff...shall it now be more polys but smoothed less polys or huh???
so i correct the chinn and post also a smoothed version now....

thx guys again!

okay dudes:
i think the chinn is too much out...it looks like a seeman...:)
secondly i simplified the lips just a bit...the still need to be animatable....well is the float of the chinn now appropriate?

wow i like the area of the eyebrow and the sticks ....i dont like the eyes and the chin :) do i have to keep the eye low poly? or smooth with hard edges on??
