Wow thats some fast and amazing work.

vedic kings 07-08-2004 06:48 AM

Thanks RubberChicken:)

Well i'm off to bed, I will have some updates tomorrow.

FubaR 07-08-2004 11:34 AM

hey that looks really cool. the only thing I dont like is the texture you used on the roof of the one tower and the gates....this green is ugly...sorry m8, but I suggest using a some wood planks.
its a bit more work but it will look much better

Jay 07-08-2004 06:14 PM

Good Stuff so far VK.

I disagree with the roof comment though. There is a Roman Catholic church in the town where I used to live and its the same if not brighter, I think its made of 2 metals including copper, hence the green oxide color because of the damp.

Thanks guys!:)

Yeah the blue/green roof is from a referent, in one of my books. So Jango is right on that one:)

here a pic, but as far as what i'm going for is a mix of castles, as well as imagination;) with out imagination it wouldn't be as fun IMO.

FubaR 07-08-2004 08:27 PM

yeah...that is right...copper oxidates to a green color when its older...but the point is that this green is a bit strange, isn't it?
and it doesn't look like the roof at your reference either... ;)

Well that where imagination comes in, i'm not going for an all around real look either. Also some of the texture are not final at this time. So the green look may be different later:)

MainlineX 07-08-2004 10:20 PM

Coming along nicely vk, good job!! :)

vedic kings 07-08-2004 10:22 PM

Hey VK
Thats cool man. This is the sort of scale Im going for with my own project, massive!!!! But I have made a rod for my own back cos I gotta go more photoreal.
Great stuff keep going

_J

vedic kings 09-08-2004 07:50 PM

hey, thanks guys:)

lonepig, yeah that my plan, is to model the whole town:)

Jango,

Massive is the word:) Yeah it's a huge project for me, I think it will be the biggset one yet. And I try to do something more Challenging per new project, as IMO is the only why to learn. No fear is the key, but I have to say I run into some fear in these big project, but sooner or later I figuer out what to do and move on.

If you don't mind, what is it that you are doing that is massive?

I will have some more updates soon :)

gohan1842 10-08-2004 05:56 AM

hey man that is truely awsome. i would LOVE to have for a game map. that reminds me of the spiderman:the movie game.

Jay 10-08-2004 10:09 AM

Hey VK

Well all the characters that I have been posting here are for a 3d graphic novel that I've been working on for the last year and a bit, designing and writing etc.

A friend of mine is working on my site at the moment, so as soon as that is done you can view all the bits so far there. But I have terrains and buildings and more vehicles to make still so you can see why thats a massive job for me.

Later

_J

FubaR 10-08-2004 10:48 AM

hey that looks very good...I like it very much.
It looks like it could be a city in Lord of the Rings...yeah not that good like the ones in the film but the architecture. So you could maybe make a fly through this city.I think that would look good.
