Ok. Here is kind of how the gun will look when it's out and ready to kill. I assure you that you will see details later.

Shadeblade 09-06-2005 08:05 PM

It looks as if it folds into itself like one of those retractable fishing rods (Sorry, poor example). Hehe, would be awesome to see such a small gun do a devastating amount of damage. *cough*bazooka*cough**cough*

alienscience 09-06-2005 08:58 PM

Yes, but a .50 caliber bullet through someones head a mile away, also would be pretty cool (and messy).

Edit: oh, and yes, the rifle does look a little......."blocky", but he already said he would put some more detail in it, also, it does have to fit in the body, so keep that in mind.

gohan1842 09-06-2005 09:18 PM

Yes it will look like an actual rifle in the end.

Alienscience
Shadeblade is right it retracts itself in. I already checked that. But thanks for pointing it out.

Umm, did I say something wrong and shadeblade correct me?

gohan1842 10-06-2005 09:50 PM

No he didn't correct you. He was right on what the rifle does. It contracts itself in. Which explains your reasoning of saying that it has to fit in the body.

OH, sorry. Couldnt understand, my mommy calls me stupid. But anyways, any progress reports yet, you have been spitting them out like crazy. Nice quick and quality work though. I like it.

gohan1842 10-06-2005 10:55 PM

I'm working on it right now. I spent the night at a friend's house. That's why there has been a delay on the updates.

Shadeblade 27-06-2005 03:51 PM

Any more updates?

FubaR 28-06-2005 12:40 PM

In my opinion you should add a few more details on the "head" and on the "legs".

alienscience 28-06-2005 07:38 PM

Yes, it does need some more detail. But if I were him, I would use bump maps or something to give it the detail. Actually though, dont know if he is texturing this one, actually I dont even know if he is going to finish it. Oh well, but the reason for the maps was to help keep the poly count lower. But ultimately its up to him.

FubaR 28-06-2005 07:59 PM

Yes bump map or displacement maps are good to add detail, but I would just use this in low poly or to fake smaller details.

Hey. I just took a break from Maya for a bit. Started working some more on it.

You might want to think about adding a hinge to the robots ‘ankle’ so the foot can pivot.

Keep up the good work.

gohan1842 30-06-2005 07:50 PM

Well there is a ball inside the box/ankle area for 360 degrees rotation. But if you could draw where you are talking about maybe I can add it.
