I think im going to create the major vains and for the capillaries and other minor muscle deformations i will use a bump map and texutreing.
|
u should use multiple geometry for something like this.
and lay the muscle peices on top of each other good luck. |
ahh interesting idea. I only just discovered the MJ Poly tools, which will make it a bit easier.
anyhow long time no hear. Hope things are well with you. |

not happy with the stomic, to gave it more definition, while avoiding the hands :bandit:
Dam its like im looking in the mirror. Well the stomic anyhow ;) |
Looks like it's coming along good. The legs look like they are at too much of an angle.

I think the legs are better now. Done more muscle definment. As im going it may seem like im exagerating them to much. But thats going to be the whole aim of it. To show muscle structure.

an update. been working on the leg muscles and bit more of the stomic
|
Yes, MJ poly tools are great. I think that they have been incorporated into Maya 7, which is great :attn:
|
only the edge loop split has been incorporated, and there is also a duplicate edges tool which simply duplicates and edge twice on both sides of the original so in effect you get 3 edges from 1

sorry for the slow updates. started work on the hand, changed the postion of the arms for rigging, and smoothed out the leg muscles a bit.

hi everyone. Done my hand. still needs some tweaks but it was driving me nuts. So cause of the risk of sanity, i moved on to more muscles. Working on the arms.
|
Scale the fist up!
Fix the connection between the shoulders and chest! Stomac... I really like your character idea, you're on the good way!!!;) |
He is not a big man is he?;)
The model looks great almost looks like plastic toy:eek: |
hahah no hes not a big man. its not self portrait. ;) didnt want it to be it too distracting. lol.. thanks for the crits, i will get onto the them right away.

Hi everyone. Been working on the arm. still have more to do to the back of the arm yet. Actually the back side of the body isnt much done at all. So i plan to start on that now.
|
Hi everyone. Ive decided to scrap this and start again. I might continue this post. Not sure.. anyhow thanks for everyone help. I just feel that my geomerty is not up to scratch, and i need the practice at getting it better :headbang:
|
 scrap the whole thing, ouch... up to you mate, i thought it was coming along nicely personaly.

lol, yea well it was ok. But you never seen the wire frame. I didnt show it for a reason. It wasnt well built. So ive started this new one. Oh and its not going to be of the anatomy, think thats past my league at the moment. So im just going to model it as a realistic human.
Heres the wire so far |

well its starting to take shape. And im keeping myself accountable to my topology ;)
|
This is really good, but his shoulder blades need to be more visible.
|
cheers mate, i will get right to it.
|
I think this is fixed what you ment. If not i will get back to it shortly. Might need to add some more gemoetry. Its still very low poly

thanks shadeblade.
Heres a wire update. Smoothed version. |
youre definately on the right track.
but, if you get better references it may look much better. and dont be afraid to scatter the verts far from each other. this way u dont get a rigid look , since musculature is generally "softbody-like" keep going:beer: |
sweet, thanks vlad, good tip. i will take more care moving them appart where they dont need to be close. Ive worked more on the back, looks a stack better now. And have found some better ref pics for muscles that have helped ;) legend,
