This competition will be between Vim and Dilbert. My two favorite entries.

lighting test

I dont think Im even going to submit my final img, just to waste 30 mins rendering... Ill never win against you.

gReAt JoB. Awesoem. But what bothers me is the lamp that faces a bit toward the open door, and something else is that the room is too dark for the light outside to be that bright, a bit of ambient light is in order.

again, awesome job, I hope u enjoy da $400 when you get them.

MattTheMan, thats not very sportsman like at all. You wont learn anything from it. It doesn't matter if you win or loose. The most valuable thing you can gain from this is the experience, and in the end, we don't know how the judging will go. Vim might not win, it could go to Dilberts, Mayafreak3, Tick13, you, or me even, and no one has seen what I'm going to submit yet. I'm not worried about winning by any means.

Vim, this is just an observation, but the 2 different light sources you have in the room is not working for your model. I would loose the sunlight, and stick with the flood light you have on the wall. Of course this is just a reccomendation.

Hey Vim. looking very nice. I think that you should maybe bring down the reflectivity of the glass over the table. Right now it is a bit distracting from the insides of the model.

Looking nice mate!

MattTheMan 17-12-2005 06:37 PM

Your right, thx, and I did turn in my final render, even though I forgot to up the amount of photons casted by my hdri. But for the winners, its between VIM and probably Mayafreak, but Dilberts does have a chance. Hope not to offend anybody...

Looking good. I might be the only one, but the environment detracts from the realism for me. It kinda pulls my eyes from the model and shouts CG. Maybe try compositing into a picture? Just a suggestion.
