just a quick render see if things are going ok.
please comment on anything :)

t1ck135 07-11-2005 10:32 AM

if you dont know anyone with the hoover then pop into a store with a digital camera, if anyone bothers you get them to take it apart and take photos - you can say you need to know if it'll fit into your cupbaord which is a wierd shape ;)

good start though :)

magicsy 07-11-2005 04:16 PM

lol!
i dont know if i have the confidence to do that, ill find one tonight on Google ;)
thanks for the comments :D

t1ck135 07-11-2005 05:13 PM

dont forget yahoo images, most might be similar to google but you sometimes get a few good pics in.
also dont forget the dyson website www.dyson.com as it has technical info and some diagrams on the inner workings - you can zoom in on flash movies too...

magicsy 07-11-2005 07:13 PM

great thanks man i have some more now :D

sup guys,
ok need some advice,
see the inside of the vac inside the tranparent plastic it needs like loads of holes kinda like a big filter,
is there anyway to model this? or should i rely on textures?
maybe a boolean?
i dont know.

jsprogg 09-11-2005 06:37 PM

i would be tempted to rely on texture and either a bump map or displacement map.
If you try to model 500 holes you are going to get yourself in all sorts of trouble, thats apart from the poly count if you keep to quads.

magicsy 09-11-2005 09:25 PM

kk cheers for that,
really wanted to know if i was expected to model it but yea its kinda crazy.

testing out my rendering skills.
more work done to the left side.
also just a question notice my shadows projected onto the vac itself they are kinda lines and not solid shadows why is this?
Please post any other crit too please. thanks.

magicsy 13-11-2005 12:29 PM

i wrote todyson asking for some detailed picture of the model, which there sending out which is great news as my model has a good basic shape i think but is lacking any real detail,
However i have better news, my wife and i just been out and got a new vacum hahah a DYSON! not the same model but almost, should start coming together more now.
then maybes i will get some comments cause there lacking at the moment :(:headbang:

mtmckinley 13-11-2005 01:06 PM

looks like it's coming together nicely
