update of the cloth

Shadeblade 28-01-2006 04:32 AM

Everything you make always interests me, Vim. :)

What's this animation going to be about?

vim 28-01-2006 02:32 PM

it a animation facial for the moment I can not say what which words the character will say but coming soon. The animation will be made with blendshape for the mouth and every part of the face, and bone for moving the head and jaw. I think that will add some soft modification tool fixed to the cloth of the caracter ( controled by volumic sphere) to controle just a little the cloth during the movement of the head.

your idea its welcome. for the animation or something else

Tim_LIVID 28-01-2006 03:25 PM

Just more of question rather than a comment, is the fact that the model is looking pretty heavy and detailed going to cause you problems in the future with things like rigging and animation?

SpaceGoat 28-01-2006 03:32 PM

that would also be a question i would consider

vim 28-01-2006 04:09 PM

Well I'm starting to make some test with blend shape with soft modification tool and zbrush and the reasult was cool, and not to hard to modified.

Tim_LIVID 28-01-2006 04:12 PM

That's cool, just didn't want you to do all that work for it to be impossible to animate.

:D

vim 28-01-2006 05:50 PM

;)

vim 28-01-2006 09:06 PM

rigging of the head was done not the jaw juste the head

gohan1842 29-01-2006 08:01 AM

Tim_LIVID 29-01-2006 12:28 PM

I have to agree im afraid.

MattTheMan 29-01-2006 02:14 PM

oh angry.

someone must have stolen his drugs :p

looking good so far dude

Jay 30-01-2006 08:15 AM

Good model but needs a more in depth look at those expressions as the lips arent quite there nor the cheeks. Also the eyes are the same for each expression too. Also can you post a default image without wires and expressions please.

I appreciate what you are trying to do with this particular piece but you should concentrate getting areas right before pumping the work at 200ks and not looking at the overall picture, as seasoned guys like myself who create character expressions pretty much on a weekly basis will spot these things a mile off and wont give you a glossy answer of 'oooh' and 'awsome!!'.

Harsh crit I know, but I think more honest crit is needed on some of these forums sometimes in order for improvements to be made justifiably quicker

Cheers
Jay

SpaceGoat 30-01-2006 08:36 AM

hey i dont want to start anything here but that was a bit of a harsh statement there Jay. if you are refering the the file size as 200k then look again as they are only 70k. and looking at some of ur work suggests that u also do the same sort of 'small update posts' as with most of the other people around. And hey really, there isnt anything wrong with it and most of us are still learning.

Jay 30-01-2006 09:56 AM

Lipski

No dude not file size, 200ks is short for 200km per hour.

The work is good as Ive said but if he slowed down backed off a bit it would be that much better. I think Falott has said this before on another of Vims previous posts.

As for file size hes using an outside server like myself so that doesnt matter in this case or mine. We arent using SM servers.

I agree alot of people are learning which is why from time to time I am more harsh with some crit than with others. But also in effect if you dont want crit good or bad, dont post.

There is a need to realize that work needs crit and pointing the truth out is what is needed in this case, I feel its not right. Believe me there are people on this site who will tell it like it is alot worse than me. I am just clear and concise, as with my own work, if it was crap or something out of place I'd expect to be told its not right instead of giving me 'gloss'.

Nuff said

Jay

Tim_LIVID 30-01-2006 10:17 AM

Can't really say it better to be honest,.

SpaceGoat 30-01-2006 12:32 PM

ok then a little misunderstanding. You make a good point and totally understand that in order to improve one must see room for improvement. Encouragement is not a bad thing either. At that moment just thought you may have come on a little strong thats all.

Jay 30-01-2006 01:29 PM

Tim

Thanks as always

Lipski

No probs. The thing is not to read to much into something unless you understand it totally. Nuff said on the matter.

Cheers
Jay
