changed the body a bit, changed the hip width and that kinda thing...

i really just wanna be done this so that i can rig it and pose it.

and i plan on adding hair and eyebrows in photoshop after its rendered

am i over my head with this model? the answer is yes.
but this is my first attempt at a somewhat acurate human being that isnt totally cartoony.

i think once i get this head where i want it i will be back on the right track, ive learned to go back and work on things that aren't totally finished because its just how i do things.
it may be a bad way to go, but for a beginner its the best way because i cant see how things look until i see the whole picture, until its all put together, then i notice the little things wrong with it, which is why i do things this way, its just that i havent learned the other way yet or im just not good at it yet, and i stress "yet"

i just found some issues with the hips that im working on. i gotta build up the courage to go back and work on the head

now i plan on rigging and posing this character, does anyone know if i can pose it, then remove the bones and adjust the verticies more to adjust for muscle movement etc in certain positions?
like can i still pull verticies after its been posed?

yeah just delete history and it will automatically detach the rig leaving it in the pose.

good to know..

i wish i had my dual monitor right now, borrowing it to a roomate cause his burnt out, but it would help me a lot with the refs on this head

DJbLAZER 05-03-2006 11:51 PM

Also remember that all your reference pics is shot with a camera, and thus hav perspective in them. So your orthogonal side and front view shouldn't actually match up exactly, if they do, then you're a bit off.

my girlfriend agrees with magic on the vagina

magicsy 06-03-2006 07:46 AM

lol ;) told ya.!
The body is starting to look better. :)

Turbo Dan 06-03-2006 11:20 PM

no update, just decided im gonna trash the entire head and start over no focusing on matching so close to the refs, but instead just refering to them for help.

feels so horrible throwing away all that work just to chalk it up to experience

im gonna perfect each part before i move on, ill try things that way

im gonna try this one using more of a nurbs approach for smoothness

concorddawned 07-03-2006 07:17 AM

You should use final Gather to render with mental ray just because everything at the moment looks flat.

i think a screenshot will work better for this...

the nose is quite a bit more difficult in nurbs

i think imma get the eyes and mouth better before i go for the nose

i should have probably done all these wip renders so they can be seem more clearly.

concorddawned 07-03-2006 07:23 AM

much better
