here is a pic ...also still trying to get proportions correct. here i hope i can show how lower jaw is so small compared to upper head. i adjust it bigger but then i can select small vertix and correct it

also when i do side view to just change some ..it changes on one side of the jaw but not other .... any hints ? in side view also

micgaz 07-03-2006 06:35 PM

hi man,

dont despair! In situations like this I find it useful to model with all 4 windows displayed. You can then select in the side view and check in the perspective to see what has been selected.

Keep on going,
mic

have u also tried using the Scale tool to make it larger.
One thing u should know is theres not right way or wrong way of doing anything in maya as long as it gets u the right results.
So dont feel like u have to listen to everything the tutorials say to get the desired results.

okay here is when i go in side view. select vertix i want to shape. I just did it way out of proportion to show you all what is going on . i did it in side. picked the vertix and then went in perspective mode and this is how it looks ..hopefully you all can see what is going on

yes i do it with all four windows up and that is what i get ......

okay when is Kurt or mtmckinley going to put a maya for dummies book out ..I will order 4 copies one for me and one for friends hahha

magicsy : thanks the scale tool work but now with this problem

magicsy 07-03-2006 06:51 PM

hmm i dont see the problem.... Just select the one opposite it manually. then maybe the one below it add bring that out slightly too to add more width.

mmoore5553 07-03-2006 06:55 PM

so there is not an option to pick opposite sides same vertix ? manually OMG ...hahha

magicsy 07-03-2006 07:32 PM

Lmao!!! only if they match up exactly so when u drag the square box over the vertices by holding L.mouse button it will select the ones opposite so yes kinda.

mmoore5553 07-03-2006 07:33 PM

lmao okay well guess back to work ...think I need to find something easier to model lol ..cause i am having no luck lol this is probably a WIP and SIP ...aka STUCK in progress lol

This is my first time modeling in Maya

Falott 08-03-2006 11:28 PM

this is very good for your first time. I gave up on this tutorial once. it was my first tutorial too.

just keep on trying. understanding comes with practice. maya can be confusing in the very beginnings.

mmoore5553 08-03-2006 11:32 PM

wow that is very good ..i wish i could get my dog up and running but yet ..alias it is dog gone mad lol

This may be a wile shot in the dark, but could it bit a history problem. Try deleting it if you don't need it and see what happens then.
