Lovely job concorddawned,

I really like the leather texture. The only thing that bothers me a bit is the metal bit on the site that the strap is attached to, it looks a little too reflective. Could be that I'm just being picky though!!

Nice work, look forward to seeing the helmet,

Mat.

Im a fan of your work, Very nice and clean modeling. More updates because im interested in seeing this post

Rostoons 10-04-2006 06:05 PM

very impressive modelling, and amazing rendering skills on the goggles, they look stunning

Minstrel 10-04-2006 07:39 PM

Very nice concord. Isnt this from the Alias book for modeling? I have seen them in some alias books I have (the art of maya), i just dont have the one about modeling. The render on the goggles is excellent.

MrR 10-04-2006 09:26 PM

Awesome concorddawned! You have excellent texture and lighting skills! The modelling ain't bad either ;)

Any chance of seeing a "this is how I did it" post or tut?

mmoore5553 10-04-2006 09:55 PM

i would pay for a tutorial on it ... can we say paypal.

arran 10-04-2006 09:58 PM

Yeah, this looks really good so far! As others have said the texturing looks excellent.

What sort of character are these for?

MattTheMan 10-04-2006 10:48 PM

nothing to crit- the goggles especially are gr8

concorddawned 11-04-2006 12:45 AM

Thanks Everyone Your comments are great.

Minstrel Yes these are based on the tutorial but the textures/rendering and most of the modellng i did without help.

I guess i could do a tutorial it just depends on how many ppl would be interested.

As for the character arran I have no idea.. I guess that will be my next project.

Thanks again everyone,

More updates coming soon.

ericmattison81 11-04-2006 03:59 AM

mmoore5553 11-04-2006 04:58 AM

once again you have outdone yourself ....

concorddawned 11-04-2006 05:04 AM

Cheers Moore,

Ive definatly learnt how important texturing/rendering quality is.

Got some good help from autodesk tuts.

Im happy to share my rendering settings just pm me.

mirek03 16-04-2006 08:07 AM

that is excellant work is all I have said, great lighting, ect if your organic modelling is as good as this work I can't wait to see the face. Something I'm interested in is how to do a face with this sort of realism.., love it but a long way off for me! Have you put the model in front of a Jpeg or is the table a model too?

by the way, I got a grip on the stuff you helped me with. (if you remember, maya and real footage.)

...and the reflections/refractions (correct wording??) on the glasses, far out...

concorddawned 16-04-2006 10:05 AM

Thanks Mirek.

Glad to have helped you.

The table is a model aswell.

Im in the mix of making a head for the helmet but i think its going to take longer than expected.

MattTheMan 16-04-2006 12:15 PM

That is so pimpin'! Awesome work!

mirek03 16-04-2006 11:34 PM

 cheers my friend, mate I gotta say, I look in awe at this work of yours but the leather band keeps hitting me in the face, I didn't want to say because, hell what do I know and the model isn't finished yet, but it seems the leather band has signs of wear as does the helmet but the edges of the band are crisp and not worn down a little as one would expect from leather that had been through a war, same with the visor, very crisp. I only say this because you have textured it which, from what I gather means your almost at lock down or wrap on this part of the model. I reckon that I rekon it should be worn down more overall to match the beating you have given the helmet.

catch you matey :attn:

mmoore5553 17-04-2006 04:25 AM

hey concord

just was looking at all your posts ..you just amaze me ...seen you said someting about autodesk tuts ... did you get them off there site as a premium member ?

concorddawned 17-04-2006 04:45 AM

Forsure just drop me an email next time ur up here.

Heres a version a little bit worn for you!.

I could probably do alot more to it but the footys on.

lol

mirek03 17-04-2006 05:29 AM

dude, the goggles were perfect my freind I meant the very last picture of the helmet, the leather on that, the one from a distance (on the table) is great but the one up close (the last jpeg) is the one i was refering to. My friend, enjoy your footy, get back to tha TV and away from the computer for a while. I know you can do the deed mate, only if you agree that the leather needs to be freyed (how do you spell that word) because your doing other stuff now, don't go back over trodden ground for me, only if you think it needs it and doesn't interfer, BUT I appreciate your gesture, didn't go over me...:attn:

mmoore5553 17-04-2006 05:31 AM

i dont know ..just always love watching your work ..not sure what to model ..I know me ..I like model creatures lol ...hence the dragon lol

mirek03 20-04-2006 01:20 AM

man, I'm waiting, hows the model..?
