the render, clearly the sky is giving some nice refractions to the ground plane, but this is where this wIP begins. I will be painting on specular colour next, but that will have to wait for a little while as I have to go out and do some stuff like pay bills ect.
we will seee how the results of that are later.

maybe the shadows could be a little more darker blue??

I bring up paint 3D attributes and change the settings from paint 'colour' to paint 'specular.'

I adjusted the brush to suit with middle mouse button and 'b' keyboard and started to paint on the paint on the specular colour

no differance I can see there much but it helps in the view port to turn off default lights when using any lights. when I assigned a texture to make the ground plane paintable maya saved the image as an 'iff' file so I can take it in to photoshop, it would be good if it was a complicated model, and do what I need to there for it, heres the input, output connectons in the hypershade.

did you get the laptop?? or go for the PC?

PC I hope.., believe me, laptop, unless you got ALOT of RAM is VERY slow with maya
