Jasmine_Pose
Hi everyone,
so this is a still i've been working on for a few days... Renderd with Mentalray, fixes and CC in Photoshop. I just thought i'd get some feedback on what you think and if something stands out, i've come to a point where i'm a bit blind ;) Cheers, /Chris Highres Version 2Mb http://www.absentdrone.com/Jasmine_W...WIP01_Pose.jpg http://www.absentdrone.com/Jasmine_WIP/shaded.jpg http://www.absentdrone.com/Jasmine_WIP/wire.jpg |
Dam. I gotta get me one of these girls
Nice job, wish i could model like this. Could i please see a close up of the face textured. |
Wow thats fantastic!
Only thing that may want improving are the rocks in the middleground to the left. They could be a little less blended and brought out more for some depth. Otherwise it looks really really good |
Good job with the modelling and rendering, i love it! :D
|
Cheers everyone! :)
Lipski: Thanks, nicely spotted! I can see what you're talking about and I'll look into that. Hopefully get an update tomorrow. /Chris |
Dude that is great, I really love the leaf depts on the trees...
My one comment is to add a similar texture that the belt has to the leather straps on the shoes...from the render it almost looks like the shoe straps dont have a texture... Overall that is amazing man...nice work. |
amazing
nicely done:beer:    |
I can see how you might go a bit a blind... :mg:
good work - this is looking very nice. The only area that bothers me are the eyes - they just look a little flat to me - still, I couldn't do anything like this... |
It's very nice done! although I would love to se a more emotional expression on her face :)
|
Well-constructed female models ALWAYS get my attention (they are probably the HARDEST of all organic models to make look convincing)!
Your work is inspirational, sir avalon! I presume the figure has a full facial rig as well as a skeleton. I too would love to see some sort of facial expression. To me that's the cherry on the cake! One of these days I will take a whack at a female model (if I can get the Mrs. still long enough to pose for reference shots! :-) ) WELL DONE, SHIPMATE!! |
A rare question from me, can I see a wire? Just of the girl a bit closer too.
Also is this a possible entry for the new D'Artiste Book, Character Modelling 2? Jay |
Nice work! Only thing I'd say is the face seems to just stare rather blankly forward. Some kind of expression would be nice.
|
Cheers guys! :D
Lt Jim, yeah... I did a lipsync test a while back with the head old hair and a hat you can have a look here. I'm not that happy with the rendered result but are going to make a new effort on that soon. Here's a playblast anyway: Eternal Sunshine Playblast I really cant take all credits for the body modell itself (shoulders down) as I used a base mesh from the open source project Makehuman and tweeked that and attached my head. Jay: Here's some more wires. Hehe, thanks but I dont think I've reached that level yet to have a chance for an entry in an D'Artiste Book;) This is actually more a teching ground for me to experiment with stuff!! Cheers, /Chrishttp://www.absentdrone.com/misc/Jasmine_Wire.jpg http://www.absentdrone.com/misc/Jasmine_Wire2.jpg http://www.absentdrone.com/misc/Jasmine_Shaded_Hi.jpg |
Sir Avalon
Thank you Jay |
Sir avalon,
In the end, it's the head that makes or breaks the rest! Unfortunately I couldn't view the lip sync test (I'm having serious Quick Time issues...I need an older version to get After Effects to work properly! :-) ), but I'll take your word for it! Looking forward to some animation! :-) |
Sir Avalon
Its good enough for D'Artiste book, easily, I think theres far worse in there. Im in agreement with the other guys on the face here. The slightest tilt of the head to the side away from us and avert the eyes toward us will make the world of difference to this, as good as it is already. Cheers Jay |
Thats some stonking work there sir avalon!!
Love the look and the colours of the piece |
Thank you Jay and everyone else, I really appreciate all the feedback!
You guys are right... I had a look when I came in this morning and a more expressive face will add alot. So, back to verts for me ;) Will hopefully have something by tonight... have my dayjob to take care of first! Cheers, /Chris |
FANTASTIC.
But the only crit I would have is to look into your depth of field. She seems slightly blurred. I would have her rendered sharper and the rest out of focus, but hey thats me. Oh and its always worth putting it in for an entry into D'Artiste, you have the talent. You will never know until you try. Good luck... |
very nice work :)
I really like the detail in the foreground and on the tree. Her body pose says 'confident' but her head pose says 'minor reprimand' or 'slightly taken aback' to me. With a bit of tweaking you've got a great piece there! |
hey, is it just me or does the girl in the liptest video sounds and looks like britney spears?
great work anyway! you are awesome:bow: |

Can't believe I missed this thread.
Chris, You've done an awesome job man. The only thing that stood out for me was her forearm. It doesn't look right, but I could be talking crap. If this was my work I would be feeling VERY warm and fuzzy, you should be proud. Cheers Paul |
good catch, BMS, I was going to comment on that too. Her arms seem a little spindly. But that's just me, maybe. I like some meat on dem bones. ;)
|
you could just create a parallel blend shape corrector in there with a new sculpt on the elbow and drive it with the joint. But if you are not animating this particular piece just delete the history on the whole thing after its posed etc and just give it a tickle with artisan, easy.
Jay |
Thanks again everyone!
So, spent last night playing around with expressions and somehow everything turnd out ugly... I think I have a down period at the moment... here's one anyway... missing the hair cause I have to "style" it again. heading in the right direction or wrong? Angalid: Hehe, yeah... I invited her over to record the lines and then we had a coupe of coffee :D No, its from Eternal Sunshine of a spotless mind - Kirsten Dunst. BMS: Will take a look at that... Cheers, /Chris http://www.absentdrone.com/Jasmine_WIP/TestFace_01.jpg |
I think she is still hot without hair

sweet model and i never noticed the arms til now, werent looking at arms  |
Muuuch better. At least now she is looking with a purpose, there almost a wry kind of look coming from the face, great stuff
Alot of work can be improved just by small details in the poses. people tend to overlook the pose a helluva lot. Its worth mentioning too, that the head turning always follows the eyes in terms of direction, so the eyes are actually turned more. Ive seen poses with the eyes and head centred exactly with each other, they look like marionnettes. Good job Jay |
Thanks Jay!
I've been working on the hair tonight with the new pose... it's not perfect but I thought i'd post the latest on review. And I've been playing around with the hair stuff so if it looks wired, tell me!! http://www.absentdrone.com/Jasmine_W...ose01_Hair.jpg |
What I liked about the first pose is the way a small portion of her hair came over her face. Mind you I liked her first pose, it left me wondering what she could be thinking.
Am I correct in that her hair is shorter now? If so I would like to see some more length. BTW: Very Sexy Chick you have Chris ;) Could make a good challenge for the next comp! Cheers Paul |
This is already looking a lot better - well done mate.
|
Looking a LOT better! :-) She now has a focus! I admit I find myself asking what she is about to do in the picture. Is she thinking? Confronting someone offscreen? If the latter, what is she about to say?
Just a few thoughts! Keep up the excellent work! |
man this looks awesome, I can't believe I never saw this.
