Hey Kurt! Love your work and love your tutorials too!
Is this part of a future tutorial on SM or is it just a personal project? And what are your plans for any future tutorials on SM? Thanks! |
somewhere in maya chat or maya tutorials kurt put up a type of vote to see what he would make a tutorial on next... the hippo won.
nice work but most hippos are very large this one looks a like a baby one unless thats the style youre going for.
Really nice texturing work! Can't wait to see it finished.
As far as the model goes, great job on that, as well. But, have you thought of adding a bit of bulk to it? As younglion stated, it does actually look like a young pup (I think that's what the baby hippos are called?) because of the thinnes of the legs and body. But, if were going for a pup(again, ?), I wouldn't change a thing! |
I'll see what i can do.. The reference i used matched up pretty well as far as size goes...
Looks pretty good Kurt.
Looking good, Kurt. Keep up the great progress! It seems like you're going with a slightly cartoonish style to this hippo, am I right?
any chance you will show us how to rig this beast? you havnt covered rigging quadrapeds before, a nice walk cycle or some playful animation to go with the rig would be nice.
