You don't always have to register to another forum. :ninja:
:bandit: If you'd like to view my Steampunk, just click and have a look... ;)

Cool Idea TalNinja, I don't Know why I did't think of it. Kudos:attn:

edit: strange but I can only see your pics if I'm not logged into the SL forum. Ah well, no matter. In the next comp I'll post the model on both forums ... assuming they are are still sepeate. If not then the point is moot.

Thanks sandman300
Maybe you can try to post a copy here, but from a different site?

This is my model. These shots were posted on SimplyLightWave:

I think that the reason, that these photos can be seen by anyone, is the fact that they are posted on a different site anyway. I wanted to hear opinions from anyone. Not just from people that enrolled to SL & SM sites. :bandit:

If the sites will remain the same for the next period, just be aware of that for our next comp. :)

I decided to post on Newtek's forum.

Seems like a working site for the mentioned method.
You can use any of the photos URLs there, in order to post them here. :)

sandman300: nice modeling

TalNinja:you have to learn how to control your subdivision surface. the best for you is to learn to model with poligon's in such way that when you convert poligon to subdivision you don't have to modifaid the surface. You wil do that bu adding edges to control the smoothness and sharpness of your object

Hey, guys, I'm on vacation right now, but when I get back Wed, I'll announce the winner and get a new one set up.

TalNinja 20-04-2007 07:49 AM

Thanks goksimaster. I'll try this method. :)
In the beginning I've tried SubD with the value of 3. Later I've increased it in order to make it look smoother.
My biggest problem was with the front head light. It didn't look very good in the beginning.
I guess that round objects "doesn't go that easy" just as plain polygons... :p

Hey, mtmckinley... forget about it. We can survive. ;)
Have a beer for us and enjoy your holiday.

:bandit: Howdy from the past.

I've made a short animation using my Steampunk model. :attn:
(The model development is seen at http://forum.simplylightwave.com/sho...&threadid=5101)

The model was created during Mar-Apr using LW.
I've convereted it to Maya just now, in order to create an animation movie with it.

You can view the animation as Steampunk 2007
It is stored on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWYaN0g1VTc
