OMG thats enough to freak hannibal out!
you rock mr speedy, very nice modelling

brian_ellebracht 17-12-2002 02:42 AM

THanks for putting up with my sporadic modeling. lol. I will have a final image that is using some of these models, just trying to work thru all of my ideas. I may end up with more than one scene. lol. Can you submit more than one? Maybe one as Speedy and one as Brian_ellebracht? Just a shot in the dark. If not, Then I will pick my favorite models and make scene. THanks, I think I am going to end up putting on a gas mask on the character with the flame thrower. Thanks for your replies,
Brian

Brian

You can always put one under my name………. ;)

But I think admin would notice that all of a sudden I’ve gone from beginner to Professional in one day. hahahahaha

Just kidding:D

A bit of flatulence from Santa and Gas masks for the onlookers. What next:eek:

Hey guys, I did a little work since my last post, but no gas mask yet. However, I wanted to get your opinion, on weather or not I should use the textures on the pic below, or just leave it a light color like it was before... Thanks,
Brian

BabyDuck 17-12-2002 02:54 PM

i think the texture destroys that the plates are individual and makes it look if the lines are painted.

btw, i did not mean to sound hard or anything on my last post. i will just keep mz mouth shut if someone asks for opinion again :(

Speedy 17-12-2002 02:57 PM

Dude dont worry about it, I appreciate your opinion. So keep them comming. Sorry,
Brian

P.s. any sugestions on what to do with the textures?

doodle 17-12-2002 03:13 PM

I prefer white white colour you used b4 :)

Speedy 17-12-2002 03:14 PM

Thanks guys, I agree, its going to stay white, and maybe alittle black as well. thanks,
Brian

Here is an update, he's white again. :) Thanks for your comments, now is torso, is part of the flame thrower. :) I am going to build a big nozle into his arm, instead of having it seperatly. Thanks,
Brian

Here is an update on his arm. Should I make both arms like this?? its like a built in flamethrower. let me know if the other one should just be a hand, or if it should also be a flame thrower. I am only really making this for the challenge, so in the final pic, he will be down on one knee, both arms out, torching a christmas tree. Thanks for your C&C.
Brian

3djoe 17-12-2002 04:50 PM

sorry about the reflections
here is the back.

DukerX 17-12-2002 06:44 PM

The black stripes on the fuel tanks maes it look somewhat 2d, and you loose the idea of it being .... (can't remember the english word)... Anyway... the vertical geometric detail is not so visible...

DukerX 17-12-2002 06:45 PM

By the way... It looks really great/nasty/evil/twisted.

COOL!

Roman 17-12-2002 06:46 PM

Speedy 17-12-2002 06:47 PM

Thanks for the commentsguys... Well. I did some work on the lighting and colors (or lack there of). and I tried to make a gas mask :banghead: I had a lot of problems making the gas mask, so I gave up on it. Didn't want to spend to muc time on it... Anyways, should I keep the Gas mask??? or Should I just make it an accessory, and hang it off of the tank in the back? Please let me know, the final image is him lighting a tree on fire, with lots of Fire (hopefully) so Should I keep the mask on, or take it off? Thanks,
Brian

P.s. I was going to ad a hose to the end of the filter on the gas mask, going to an additional filter on his belt (not modeled yet)

Garry1953 17-12-2002 08:53 PM

To me, the gas mask covers his wonderfull smile. I definately prefer without.
Perhaps you could drape it somewhere on his body as an accessory.

ereitz 17-12-2002 09:12 PM

this is one sick and awewome little troublemaker. Wow!

Hey guys, as you can tell by all of the time I have been putting into the torso, I have been avioding the legs  But, I ran out of stuff to do on the torso (for now) so I decided to goahead and start on the legs. Let me know what you think, thanks,
Brian

here is a back shot... Made the light yellow just for fun, thats why its not white right now...

brian_ellebracht 17-12-2002 11:03 PM

Tomorrow I am going to ad the bones and get him ready for my final pose. I could ad some accessories to his legs, but with the pose that I am using (down on one knee) you, will not see much of them anyways. Can't wait. :)
Brian

Hey guys *yawn* its 6 in the morning. :( I stayed up all night last night, pulled an allnighter... I saw Lord of the Rings at the midnight show!! It was fantastic, can't wait to see it again. Why did I stay up all night tonight?? I wanted to create a realistic shader for my Flame Thrower. Please let me know what you think of this... ZZZzzzzz... I spent alot of time on it, It is particles with a runtime expresion for scalePP and The shader is all Procederal!! (sorry I can't spell this late, err, early) THere are no textures out side of Maya, it is fully animated, Please let me know what you think,
Thanks,
Brian
Wish I could sleep, have to go to work. :(

After Viewing my fire, do you think it was worth the hours I put into it?

brian_ellebracht 18-12-2002 12:05 PM

oh yeah, since it is all proced. I could easily make it B&W, do you think it would look better black and white in this scene? I kind of think it is better color, just because it ads contrast to the B&W, but I thought I would ask for your opinion. THanks,
Be

Ravenall 18-12-2002 03:36 PM

seems like the arms are a bit small
can we see a front and side view

fire looks great

abra 18-12-2002 03:44 PM

jep the fire looks really great!!!

abra 18-12-2002 03:46 PM

and to the color...

it's hard to say how the fire will look in the scene! can u post a pic with scene and fire? would be a big help to decide

Speedy 18-12-2002 03:47 PM

I agree about the arms, at first I intentionally made it like that, but after your comment, I decided to go ahead and make them Proportional. Thanks, I will post an image later when I can. Thanks,
Brian

Speedy 18-12-2002 03:49 PM

First I need to finnish the skin weights and stuff on the bones befroe I can add everything together. :(
Not fun I am now having issues with that. Things are going slow on my model lately, Maybe because I am going off of no sleep. I will update when I get a chance. Thanks,
Brian

Hello, I did some major rework on the arms and legs, Had to make the joints like that because I really don't have the time or feel like taking the time to paint skin weights right now, so I thought that this would be a good solution. Do the arms/legs look any better?
