Sad news

Hi guys,

I'm afraid I'm the barer of bad news today, for those who knew him, my friend and fellow Simply Maya member Old hippy Tom has died. He had liver cancer for a while and it finally was too much.
I just thought those of you who had chatted to him and exchanged comments should know, and could maybe leave a few words here if they felt to.
R.I.P Tom, one of the nicest guys I've ever had the pleasure of talking to.

That is sad, He was a gent and I have missed him from this site. He always ended saying some thing like "Im just going for a smoke and a glass of wine"...........dave

Wow, shocked. Such an ace guy, always offered advice and encouragement.

My condoleces to his family.

RIP Tom.

THX1138 20-03-2011 03:41 PM

Although I never spoke to him here on the boards, he was still great guy.

My heart goes out out his family.

That just blindsided me. He was one of the friendly helpful people that make SM a cool place to hang. Rest in peace Tom.

NitroLiq 20-03-2011 06:16 PM

My sincerest condolences to his family. RIP Tom.

Jay 20-03-2011 06:43 PM

Damn that has knocked me senseless!!

I never knew that he was suffering, he always seemed like one of those members who would have look in every so often, show some stuff he'd been working on make a few comments on others work and then disappear for a bit to get on with something new.

Thats a real shame, my sincerest condolences to his family and friends.

Rest in Piece sir.

Jay

I used to love his sig

"Challenge me and I will try. Because If I should fail, failure also has a prize (Knowledge)".

Always helpful, with a great sense of humour - will be missed around here.
This is hitting me quite hard with everything I just went though and makes me even more thankful I`m still here.

David 20-03-2011 07:56 PM

Well what can you say really :( my condolences to his family. He'll be missed round here.

RIP Tom

Chirone 20-03-2011 08:41 PM

R.I.P Tom, you were an awesome guy

That's so sad to hear. My condolences to friends and family. I loved his millenium falcon model that he entered in a competition a while back. I'm sure he will be missed by all. Just going back through that thread I remembered how pleasant he was, always saying Good morning and things like that, even though we're spread all over the world... :)

Mayaniac 21-03-2011 09:22 AM

Sorry to hear this, my condolences to his family.

bullet1968 21-03-2011 10:05 AM

R.I.P Tom....thoughts are with your family man, such a nice chap too...very pleasant.

Tom was a great guy and it's a shame to hear that he's no longer with us. My heart goes out to all the family. And although we will miss him, I'm glad we have his works of art to remember him by.

stwert 21-03-2011 04:42 PM

Maybe one of those final images could go in the gallery as a kind of memorial? Like the falcon? Just an idea.

daverave 21-03-2011 04:59 PM

I was thinking that also, may be the palace front he did that was nice.............dave

21-03-2011 11:27 PM

I chatted with him a bit at times when he was active, he was a great guy, I'll miss him being around for sure. Rest in peace Tom.

G-Man 22-03-2011 06:12 PM

I'll miss him as well, Only really chatted with him while he was working on his falcon revisited. But he was always so open to suggestions and took any advice very gracefully. I'm among those who will miss him
Condolences to the family. But congratulations as well to his close family and friends, for having the opportunity to have been a part of the life of someone who was so, outstanding of a person.

G-man

Nilla 23-03-2011 09:20 PM

Sad to hear he seemed like a great guy, it's always the nice ones that go first leaving the bastards behind.

I added Toms final finished work to the gallery would have been nicer if he was around to see it though;

All the best to his family and friends,

Nilla
