15 minutes left bud! Hope you can make it!

if brian still updates this, when did you start doing this sorta thing, cos im 14 at the moment and i am sceptical that i will be as good as you when i am 21. Especially while only sharing a family computer

Yeah but eventually you'll get your own and then life can revolve around Maya as it was meant too! :D
Heck I'm 24 and Brian kicks my ars all over Maya! I learned on 3D Studio 2 (DOS) and then after YEARS of no 3D got Animation Master and then Maya! If you stick to it like I should have then you'll be good like he is by the time you're 21!!!
Anyways... It's 1:00am here and M is an hour behind me in Arizona so I hope Brian is able to squeeze this in! Later

Its too bad, seeing now its clearly over in all timezones and its over brian. Too bad you couldnt get it in in time. You still going to show us the model when its done? Ok, cya brian.

Looks good!

Except... - Tweak the mouth area, the skin seems to be too thin there.

Very good start, guess you model at free will, right? From one "human" sketch to such a birdy/robot creature - Nice one! :-)

Edit: Sorry, I´m new to this forum - Just did not see that this thread already has 19 pages...

LOL, yea.. when i was new here, i did the same thing so many times! (example - "So when are you going to work on the body".. the model is already complete"

We miss ya!

I've been away from SimplyMaya and catching up... These artwork really rock. Reminds me of the Fifth Element. Amazing detail and well sculped forms. Congrats Brian!

Hey ADL, Brian emailed me a while back about this and all you gotta do, he said, is to extrude the edge a little bit that you want thicker, smooth once, check it out, and go back and extrude again if you need it thicker/sharper.

For Subd's, go into poly mode, extrude the edge, and go back to SubD mode, choose the SubD edge, and run a partial crease on it.

Hope that helps:)

I couldn't have said it better myself Rage! But I would definetly recomend using Subdivisions instead of just smoothing it, But thats just my preference. Thanks for answering his question!
Brian
