July Challenge: Witchy: Normal
Thinking of a 'Borg's Bunny'- part buck toothed loving pet, part evil robotic genetically enhanced killing machine.
Great for kids that seek both world domination and a slightly larger than usual pet. Will probably be controlled through mind sharing and a dispenser for genetically enhanced carrots (which contain all the things a killing bunny needs) which can be unlocked by the user when the bunny does useful things like killing enemies, exterminating teachers that want their homework/prep on time and not leaving poo the size of a horse all over the house. |
Awsome idea! I say give it the gritty dark doom 3 look!:D
|
It'll end up cute and loveable.
|
Very probably, but then if it appears semi 'cute' it can wander into places unremarked and then kill everyone. :D And I did mention part loving pet, chortle.
Here is the early work on the head. Eventually will have 'borg' style implants and things, just getting the shape in place first. Shown converted to sudbs and tweaked and with it's poly basic. Body will be large and fat with more 'borg' styling and a large gun or some unpleasant accessory. |
Nice, like the shape so far. Can't wait to see more.
|
now thats what i call a beast!!;)
its really coming along nicely |
Aww its sooo cute and fluffy, I just wanna give it a big hug :)
|
Thanks- erm quick question. I tried to cut the face in half and did a test mirror; when I do it the mirrored half appears some distance away. I have tried recentring the pivot, snapping it to the centre grid and moving it all over the place but this still keeps happening- any ideas?
I then tried resetting the settings in the mirror box but it duplicates inside itself on the default setting- mirroring on the other axes makes it upside down or back to front or miles away. I am in subds btw and I have tried freezing transformations etc. I really don't want to start again- is there a way round this? If I convert to polys it mirrors fine but I really wanted to be in subds for this stage. |
Ah never mind, I converted it to actual polys and back and it is now mirroring- must have got it confused. On with making it more cuddly. Erm, evil.
|
In accordance with Witchy's request, I shall no longer be posting here saying that it looks cute, fluffy, cuddly or any other adjective similar in nature. He also upset me so much I dont think I want to even read the forums for the next 2 weeks. <sob>
|
oh damnit...witchy I love your style. everytime you make characters they look sooooooooo great....
:) |
Thanks Eagle (where is your entry btw), and Icky, the first person the rabbit kills is going to be thee, old bean, when you get back from your hols 8).:bgreen:
|
Smooth!! Thats a cool looking rabbit.. it makes me want to get some Trix cereal! :>
|
well how did ha recenter the pivot? O_o sound kinda funny.. i mean it should work if you do it like you said o_O
but theres always the other way of mirroring stuff.. take your un splitted head, center the pivot, select half the head faces and hit delete.. then go to edit > duplicate > options ans set the 'side' axis (usually x but that depends on witch direction youve modeled it in, try and see) to -1 this will create a mirrored version of your bunny head.. you may need to reverse the normals on it(bcuz you scaled it 'inwards' the normals will be pointing to the inside of the head) but im not sure :) but the subdivs > mirror should work too O_o check again where your pivot is.. but as you described it it SHOULD work i tried it with a sphere and it worked for me O_o maybe deleteing history whould help.. |
hm.. looks like i took a little to long writing that last post :D oh well..
|
I won't enter this month,witchy....too busy with new site
|
Al: Thanks but reconverting it fixed it- was probably something in the history. I had tried edit duplicate on the - axis but subd attach wasn't happy with the resulting geometry. Fortunately all well now.
Billy: We don't get that where I live I fear, but please have a bowl on the rabbit :D Eagle: Pity 8). Bit of an update- started the basic implant shape for the head and eye / eyepiece. Seam in head is temporary. |
terminator...I mean termibunny :P
|
Hahaha. That is great. Very nice.

Here's the best picture I could find of "Trix" the Rabbit. :)
|
Jolly! This rabbit will be able to shoot people that don't eat cereal as well- handy.
Quick update- blocking in body shape. Will be having an artificial limb as well as a regular foot, hence there is only one. |
Couple of updates having started on the borg bunny suit. Just putting in the main implant shapes at present- detailing and tubes to come later. Oh and please excuse the absence of a neck.
|
Back.
|
Evil, think really ... erm never mind. :D
|
rofl................. ... . ..
rofl |
Lastly the in progress wire. Ignore the wheels on the artificial limb- skater borg bunny may be a step too far.
|
Looking good Witchy, lol, once you and I get our charcters done.. we should get them together to battle each other.. my gorilla has no chance.. but its a neat thought.. haha
|
Thanks 8).
Started work on a primary weapon- the carrot plasma chaingun. Textures are just for contrast plus no real details added as yet. |
Another angle.
|
cool!!
how did you make that thing inside the gun? |
It's one cylinder inside another (with holders at each end inside to make it look like a container) with a semi transparent texture on the outside one and a fractal bump map on the inner one.
Still working on the 'mix' effect. Oh and that tube needs redoing now I look at it! |
ey witchy.
Show me 2o different works and put yours between them. I will know which one is yours. I love your style. And it is great to ave an own style. brian ellebracht=detailed style witchy= crazy style :P |
Whoa, real nice witchy! I think his suit though looks more like extruded stitching than machinery though.. you will really be able to tell once its textured. Other than that though, its looking really nice! Maybe redo the yellow hose on the gun, as it doesnt look too smooth compared to the rest of your gun. Really nice though and i also love the effect that you used inside the gun :D
|
looking real nice :)
its not really a big deal but you could make the plasma a brighter green and slap some glow on it (kinda like the googun in ut2003:D) |
Thanks for the comments! Tube has been fixed now.
Good suggestion Al but I think I'll stick with this colour for now- it's for plasma carrots really, not goo as such. 8) Edit- I read that and realised I made the idea of plasma carrots sound perfectly logical. Insanity has clearly set in. |
Good point on the armour, I decided to implant the things into the bunny body rather than onto a suit, so scrapped the old body and started again, modelling the plates as seperate items.
|
etc

hehe okay :)
you could put a carrot on the corner of his mouth like a ciggar to make him even more badass :D |
We shall see.... :D
Started work on the left arm/hand which contains probes for testing carrot freshness and slicing people into small parts. Overview; |
