I'd forgoten about RAID so i'll look into it and i didn't know you could get 10K HDDs so i'll look into those aswell.

The one button mouse issue is nonsensical, and is quite funny to think that people still believe that. I personally use an Intuos 2 Wacom tablet, on my Mac, and I chucked the one button mouse into the drawer when I got my computer. :D

I know you can have other mice for the mac. I was just stating, that the standard ones, the ones i am forced to use at school, annoying me. I keep trying to use the right click, forgetting its not there. lol.

That's what i've got to use this year and as for Macs before last week i'd never even seen one and know i find out half my course is done using them.

yeah. My school just got 30 new Emacs. Thats ok though, they just got 30 new Dells too. :D

Dell is better than mac... but I personally would not be caught dead with a dell :D

Yeah, the MX700 rocks. I have 2 of them: one on my Dell tower and one on my Apple Powerbook. The best of both worlds. ;)

Have you had any issues with the paint wearing off the mouse at the rear? I have had my MX700 about 2 months having bought it after seeing it reviewed on Tom's Hardware, and it looks like I have attacked it with sandpaper. I have sent a slightly rude email to Logitech (none of my other mice have done this after years of useful use) but wondered if anyone else has had the same problem?

I would love to go out in the park and work on my 3d stuff!! Man, I could do so much more, when I am traveling and all kinds of stuff. Right now I have a dual 2.2 ghz athlon with about 1 gb of ram and only one internal 40 gb hardrive !!! kinda sucks, but I have a large external hardrive where I store all of my files so I can easily go from one computer to the next. It seams to me my computer is allready getting old :( need something new, and I think that the labtop would greatly inhance my ability to work on my stuff... oh well, bad thing about Athlons, is that they can easily overheat, very annoying. Maybe consider getting something with a Quadro FX go! in it... the hardware rendering is so worth it! the video card even in the extreme is just intel integrated graphics, which means just an okay GPU that uses your system's ram, not video ram... much slower... :banghead:

Yeah i've been looking at the new Quadro FX 3000 but £1,619 isn't cheap so i might get the Quadro4 980 XGL at £440

ok, so you getting dual chips right? What heat sink and fan you using? I would suggest not using the stock heatsinks. If you want the best HS / fan combo, let me know.

The back of my MX700 has mabey 2 dots wheres the paint got chipped. But it gets quite a betting in my LAN bag.

I'm not using the standard fans and heatsinks i'm using all thermaltake fans and heatsinks and i'm not having the fan on the heatsink i'm having it ducted to give even coverage on the heatsink. I don't think it'll over heat the case has countless fans. The final build will have 14 fans and heatsinks on all the RAM as well as CPUs.

a little late but, for others that are willing to spend a little fortune on cases + fans +dissipators, i know that on a local store theyve got some freezer cases, like the ones they use on some research institutions... They claim you can have a P2.8 overclocked to 3.8 with those things (in fact theyll prepare one of those for you if you are willing to spend 500€ on the case... (but then you save on all those dissipators and fans) I hadnt seen em on internet but maybe you would be interested on asking for them on your local dealer...

Just a side note. Dont worry about liquid cooling. You wont need it for what your doing. Cky, check your PMs.

I did look at liquid cooling but it seemed abit over the top although it would let me overclock the CPUs a bit.

just to be sure... im not talking about liquid cooling... im talking about a big insulated tower case with a thermal exchange unit like the one on your freezer on the superior quarter that will put the interior of the case subzero...

the case was £105 (has 7 fans) and heatsinks and extra fans come to £78

so it was kinda 300/350€... id like to test if their claims about overcloking are true... imagine two 3.8ghz processors at the price of two 2.8...

who did them i'll have a look?
