I have a 2009 file that I need to run on 2008, is it possible to export or any other way?

I have a nurbs circle and a curve and I would like to create an even extrusion, but it tapers at one end. How do I do this?

I used an HDRI to light my scene and simple blinn’s w/reflection on the objects. Yet, if you look at the objects inside of the reflections, they don’t seem to be reflective ... they look flat/lambert...
