Choose Windows>Settings/Preferences>Display>View>Wireframe on shaded>Full

In Windows Device Manger disable the Wacom Virtual HID Device and reboot.

Although my driver was older, updating it to the one you suggested didn't change things. Then I got the latest driver from NVidia and that didn't work either. Thanks for trying; any other suggestions?

I just started learning Maya 2013. It I tap the spacebar it switches from a single view to a quad view as the tutorial says. If I hold the space bar I get part of the window under the pop up menu....
