maybe its just me, but i would change the color of the curtains too. looks weird with light colours, make the colors blend with the objects around them. Other than that 10 points to u, nice job.

yeah some of those tutorials in www.3d-mc.com dont really explain much. I started downloading some of the example tutorials in simplymaya which gave me a good start on roughly how to begin.
