But but I think if you have the time it's important to try. There is nothing worse than seeing a texture in someones work that you've seen ten times before. It can instantly spoil an otherwise fantastic scene.

With a few basic photoshop skills its not hard to create your own textures both from a photo and for scratch.

For amateur work I think it's as important to master texturing as it is to master modeling.
