Ah, I see. I thought you ment clay sculpture. Some buddies of mine who are taking Maya courses at Full Sail in florida have to take a clay sculpture class. They say it helps provide for a better refference to model from. I had thought you were doing the same. I like your method alot better, much cleaner.
