I think a better machine for the job is the Boxx Apexx8. It has 8 Opteron CPUs, 128 GB of RAM, up to I think 10 TB of storage!

Are you talking about Window's extremely effective, stable and high performance memory managment or something entirely diffrent?

As for Macs vs. PCs, I perfer multi CPU workstations.
