have no idea what THAT above was al about but I DID as suggested, though it left me with more rows of verts, I converted the sub-D to polygon, deleted history and then converted back.., didn't want to let the sub=Ds beat me and so.., here is an almost complete upper leg made from sub-Ds. took two days to work that problem out??
