I woud reccomend limiting your colored splotches to Brown, Red, black, or any darker color since it looks like someone went paintballing in your room. Maybe make one bright point light at the table area and make the surrounding area darker so it adds curiosity to the corners and walls but still bright enough to make out the outline of the area. I like it so far.
