Well, I reinstalled XP on the laptop and it seems to work fine now...

Although.. I don't see how it could've been a software problem if the laptop wouldn't use the repair console which was on the CD.

Either way, I'll run some tests.. (RAM, HDD, etc..)

Anyone know any good programs that do that sort of thing? (and are free)
