you can fix those bumps buy sticking more edge loops around the corners.
it takes 3 edges to make a sharp-ish corner when you smooth.
you could bevel the corners and then figure out how to deal with the five sided faces it'll leave you with
that's a "Ch" pronounced as a "K"
