hmm, it highlights the group, but doesn't open the tree to the exact item. I have my outliner window docked using a MEL I got ages ago as I always have it open but don't like it floating about. maybe thats why the code doesn't work? as it's not technically the correct window..? it is that as I've just tried the standard outliner window and my assigned key works perfectly...
