Hello everyone

I have created a word in Maya that is composed of one object per letter. At a certain moment I'd like to make explode the whole word (the word breaking apart into hundreds of particles that are flying away). I searched a lot for adequate tutorials online but didn't find something that's really useful to me. Can someone send me a useful tutorial or give a hint where to begin? How can I split the object?
