Yes, this is how it works - use just valid email, I don't require to fill your real name and address, try to understand it bandwidth costs and I need it to protect links from hot linking.
I don't send spam, or trade with your emails - simply it is not worth as I work as legal company and need good reputation (sending spam sucks).
If you don't want newsletter simply uncheck it - but I send newsletter once a month - always with new freebies content.
