don't get me wrong i think computer vision sounds interesting (but really tough)

ok, let me re-phrase...
i'm glad i avoided the lectures that used that

from what i hear the lecturers here who were meant to be teaching such things weren't much help.

apparently other universities that use it appear to give a lot better guidence and not just a "heres open cv, here's two completely different cameras that have no chance in hell at getting in sync with each other so you should go out and buy your own pair of $400 cameras, oh and btw, we aren't going to help you with the actual programing of this stff, we'll just tell you theory of something else "

and then spend weeks sleeping overnight at the labs trying to get the algorithms to work when they have been planned out and should be perfect but aren't because the cameras aren't callibrated properly
