mmm, well sorry, I just had a look at AE and there is no import as a flash doc?? I just read your question again and I think you had it pretty much right then.., but I dont think there is any 'render to flash' in maya, could be but im too lazy to look. Im just thinking of the size of the files, another thing you could do is automate photoshop to change all of your maya image sequences to flash format and then import them to flash and as I understand flash it works on layers and PS is not too bad with importing to flash.., fireworks is better but photoshop is not too bad. I have a whole document on putting movies into flash on the other computer.., ill get it to you asap. sometime today.
