There isn't a "best" format/codec as some work better for different things...some types of compression work better for content that doesn't have alot of motion...some work better for line art animation...some work better for live action video. Not to state the obvious but you *could* actually run some short video rendering tests using a portion of your project to see what looks better rather than waiting for someone on the forum...might actually learn something too. It's always a tradeoff between quality and filesize.
