Modelled with simple poly's with color, specular, & displacement maps. The more I scale down my object the fatter and more distorted it gets.
Maybe it's because the stool comes from a tutorial using simple geometry imported from an older version of Maya (like 4 or 5) and imported into 2008? It's strange though because it's literally just slightly modified cylinders.
