i have seen this before.., sometime ago and forgotten what it is. I just ditched all prefs and started again.., maya started acting weird when i started using a projection script similar to Z Brush's master projection???

any ideas what this is

the big rotation thing (i was trying to use joints to pose a figure) and the options are grayed out in the shaders menu???
