I feel exactly the same way, it drives me mental. If someone asks what I'm doing and I say 3D, or if I'm talking about a 3D app and someone decides to butt in, they think I mean stereoscopic 3D and then when I explain to them what I meant my 3D they get annoyed/disappointed.
