I've been asked to look at what it would take to beef up our departments ability to do more character animation using Maya.

Currently we are running Maya 5.0 and I'll be asking for an upgrade to Maya Unlimited 8.5.

What other tools would I find useful for character animation that would either increase quality or make the process more time efficient?
