Well I think Silicon Graphics is pretty important in the history of 3D... they were pioneers in 3D hardware in the late 1980s and throughout the 1990s. These days, they've lost the whole 3D market to ATI and NVIDIA and spend their time making servers...

And they also bought Alias and Wavefront, merged them in to Alias|Wavefront, which as we all know, made the very first version of Maya. :bow:
