let me put it this way:

if you gave me a paintbrush and a piece of paper do you think I could paint like michaelangelo? no way... but that's the point. Just because you have access to high end rendering software doesn't mean you're stuff will look professional like dreamworks etc.. they have massive teams of people with thousands of machines and a lot of experienced people writing cool shaders and tools. There's no way your stuff will look like there's, not without a HUGE amount of work.
