Organic Modeling and Non-planar faces

Hi,

I'm modeling an somewhat organic model. So, is it a fact of life when your are organic modeling that you're going to end up with a lot of non-planar faces?

Besides going in and fixing them by moving vertices to make them planar and/or tesselating them with cleanup. Does anybody have any strategies in avoiding non- planar faces when you are organic modeling?

Thanks
