Might you be running out of RAM or Paging File (PF) memory?

To check, simply repeat what you have been doing and then while playblasting open up the Windows Task Manager (ctrl + alt + del) to monitor your system's resources. In the Task Manager head over to the "Performance" tab. RAM usage is listed under the heading Physical Memory. Also keep an eye on the PF usage.
