Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

if attaching images to threads, please keep to 640x480 and below. If hosting the image yourself, any size is fine.

Can the entry be one that I started in the past and have already finished. It has never been entered in any comps, and only seen by like.... 4 or 5 people.

Just curious.

If need, I will gladly post break downs, since I mostly did it in layers anyways. Since the theme is Fear and Loathing, I hope my entry (assuming its approved) is appropriate.

Fear is being scared of something... i.e. fear of the dark, fear of spiders (arachnaphobia) etc....

Loathe is hate, to love or to loathe.

The work needs to have been done during the timeframe of the challenge.

The artwork was finished in the last month (early july, around july 8th). Is that the acceptable time frame?

I'll rephrase... it needs to be started and finished within the timeframe.

Even so, I'd personaly prefer a new project be made specificaly for this competition, for regulation purposes.

I'm just wondering.... are we (maya users) challenging the max and lightwave users to? I mean are we all in the same boat (challenge as in one)?
or is there a winer per software user? That would mean 3 winer, therfore 3 Prizes, one per each winer?

Yeah, I didnt realize how many people are also entering this competition using other 3D programs. I'm glad it will be the best of the best who wins this contest.
