I've made a desktop wallpaper. The model wasn't that compilated, but I spent some time on the textures and materials. Rendered in Maxwell.

See the 3360x2100 huuuge render here

cool little model, nice textures on there.

...does maxwell not bore you to death? also does it use an IBL? just wondering because you sometimes get that pinkish hue in renders when lighting with FG in mental ray (depending on the HDRI)

You get pretty good render in 10 minutes, then it's just if you want that final noise free render you'll have to wait 10-30 hours...

If by IBL you mean Image Based Lighting, yes you can use HDR iamges to light a scene, although that adds a little to the render time.

Lovely Stuff!

Loved my A500 and A1200! I get all the images, except for the twist sticks? What are those about?

Now have one of the Boing balls as my desktop!

(Edit: The twist sticks look a bit like blitter effects...)
