Image plane issue when rendering.

I set an image plane when I render but it is in front of the model and not behind it.

Any suggestion?

Try using a polygon image plane you can easly place that behind your model............dave

As dave said, put the image on a poly plane. If you put it as the camera image (which looks like you have it currently) it'll render out like you're getting.

xplicit there are a lot of new maya users on this site I dont think I have ever seen some one being flamed for asking a question most of us remember what it used to be like when we firsted started, I would ask new users to do a quick search first on this site as you will be surprized at how meny people ask the same question..............dave

looks like you are using IPR.

Also, sorry to be a stick in the mud. But this advice is not really something you should get into the habit of doing. you should use the camera image plane rather than a poly plane.

Set the depth of your plane in the image plane attributes.

Yeah I agree with dom, its best not to use a poly plane for this. Instead bring up your outliner by clicking Window>Outliner. Then in outliner expand the camera your rendering from (prob "persp") and then expand the shape node. You should then be able to click "imagePlane1". Press Ctrl+a to bring up attributes and then in the 2nd box down called "Placement" you should have a depth value thats prob set to 100 by default. Just increase this until you have enough distance for your model to be viewed through camera. user added image
