Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Trouble creating UV's with planar mapping?

Hello, I am having trouble creating UV's using planar mapping. I am trying to map a skinned mesh. I have done this before and it worked fine, but for some reason it is not showing up at all the texture editor.

Its Skinned??

Good working practice is really not to do uv's on a skinned mesh whether you have done it before or not. It will always cause probs

Turns out it was just being mapped waaaaay far away on the UV because of skinning having different transform. So I just had to move my UVs back to the right spot. Works perfectly.
