Default Free/Trial?cheap Compositor

i have been messing about with a few tutorials and some of the stuff i have needs compositing so i can finsh them off.

obviously im not heavily into this side of 3d stuff, (well not yet anyway) so after effects or whatever is out of question. Anyone know a good program i could mess about with?

Who said "individually"?

Might want to check upon Photoshop´s docs for info on batch editing (With their ActionScripts). That way You just click and he does the rest ..

Sometimes they even use it to blur (Depth of Field) some rendered layers just in case the renderer didn´t do a good job ...

Now Of course Combustion or AfterEffects are better .. just saying it CAN be done in Photoshop.

Yeap .. for example Jeremy Birns (3drender.com) makes a heavy enfasis on rendering by layers, this way you could actually grab a bunch of layers (say the background ones for example) and batch process them all to a desired effect (You know how photoshop handles effects on 2d images, so instead of letting the renderer actually calculate everything you can manually tweak the results). It has great possibilities (However If it´s an animation better go with after effects which can already comp those images without all the batch-editing-jargon ... ) (or Combustion for all that matters)

Great huh?
