Default Scripting problem...

script problem:
trying a bit of particle contorl out with tangents etc along curves and i get error on this :

are there any coding programs with syntax highlighters for MEL?

float $pos[] = ^pointOnCurve -pr (age) -p curve1;
float $tan[] = ^pointOnCurve -pr (age) -nt curve1;
float $tan[] = ^pointOnCurve -pr (age) -nn curve1;

:S my help doc is messed up cos i had to install some imaging software which has interned messed up some installation programs, so now i cant repair maya properly to find out how the point on curve command should be laid out

If you have problem with your html help files, you could always try typing "help" and the command you're looking for.

Looking at your script, my first guess would be the "^" in the command might be causing he problem.

For text editors, there are actually a bunch out there with MEL syntax hiliting. I, personally, use UltraEdit. If you do a search for your particular text editor, I'm sure you might be able to find a MEL syntax hiliter for it.

thanks got the syntax highlighter, i may have to reinstall my system, it was about time anyway ... damn third party imaging software doenst know how to uninstall itself.... it means i cant repair my mental ray either ;(
